About the report:
The first ranking of the largest Polish companies of key importance for the economy. Prepared on the basis of the national champions index, calculated on the basis of data aggregated into four key categories: economy, industry, foreign and innovation. Moreover, the report answers the questions: what are national champions characterised by and how can the state build their numbers and strength
Key conclusions:
- 44 Polish companies that can be considered national champions were awarded. The ranking podium was occupied by: KGHM, PKN Orlen and PGNiG.
- National champions are often large companies, such as Asseco Poland, but this is not a necessary condition to qualify for this category.
- Some national champions, although they have a significant impact on the economy, are in the second or even third ten in terms of size.
- Leaders in the category of economic impact must increase their investment activity or be more focused on foreign activity, and smaller enterprises should continue to invest in development by building new production plants and winning new contracts.
